Welcome to Menopause demystified – You are here to be the healthiest, happiest woman you can be
As a very busy mum of two, I understand how challenging it can be to put ourselves first and priorities some time for our body, for our mind and for our heart when we are so devoted to the wellbeing of our loved ones first.

That feeling of exhaustion from not being able to sleep through the night, sometimes waking up in hot sweats and sometimes just awake staring at the ceiling at 3am, the brain fog, the forgetfulness, the anxiety and the depression from just not being able to snap out if it – these feelings are all too familiar.
The kicker is having served compassionately in the NHS for 20+ years, the lack of support I felt on the other side of the table was not expected. Having achieved the task of getting an appointment at the doctors I was offered a pill without much discussion, alternative or investigations. I was appalled! When I demanded a blood test to check my general health following the burnout and the levels of all my supporting hormones I was advised it wasn’t routine. It was only when working with a dear friend who’s also an endocrinologist I was empowered to go back and ask for the same tests with conviction and granted my request and subsequently low levels of vitamin B and D were picked up which are simply supported by a diet rich in both.
So I’ve witnessed first hand the limited guidance and lack of support our conventional health system offers us as we start the journey from perimenopause through menopause and into living life with post-menopause.
Women present everyday with headaches, migraines even, fatigue, belly bloat, weight gain, mood swings, feeling low, stressed, pain and the rest are all treated with the pop of a prescription pill without the investigation of the actual root cause.
I started my health coaching journey with a desire to take a different approach to my own health following a mental and physical burnout during the pandemic and then stepping into perimenopause.
Using Lifestyle Medicine I embraced better habits like walking daily and regular sleep patterns. I also let go of some lifelong bad habits like my love of all things sugar and embraced new ways of eating I had picked up on the Foot Matters Nutritional Certification Program.
Through health coaching, what I found was we all have the power to impact our menopausal journey through our lifestyle – how we eat, move and live everyday has a huge impact on how we feel day to day.
I am hooked on developing myself to bring my ladies better outcomes at this stage. As an example, I recognised the power of habit and behaviour reframing through modalities like Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and Quantum Neurobiology (QNB) techniques. I now use these techniques to really help shift the needle with my ladies who find themselves stuck in certain habit loops and help them embrace more powerful habits to live their best life.
This is your opportunity to take this confusing and overwhelming time with all the changes happening in your body to feeling knowledgeable and confidently empowered as you transition through the most transformative journey of your life.
